The only thing certain in life is uncertainty. You may have experienced this truth in the past, but when you think back now, it was a small thing compared to our current situation!
Many people now think back with nostalgia to even their most difficult days, when they thought what they were experiencing was the height of stress and hardship. The boss yelling at you, too much work to do, difficulties in keeping up with family chores...
Now, with job insecurity and increasing pressure on the family circle from within and without, those days could seem like paradise.
"How happy we were and we didn't know it!"
This is the sigh of hundreds of thousands, even millions, of people around the world who are now mourning the loss of their old way of life. And yet they insist that their lives must go on the old way! They cling to their old habits obsolete routines. They insist that, by hook or by crook, they have to go on living their lives the way they have always done – because they can't imagine any other way. But they should rethink their current strategy as soon as possible and start to look for new options!
Is it heroism or stubbornness to refuse change?
You may have heard of the Japanese lieutenant Hiroo Onoda, who, after the end of the Second World War, held out for 30 years (!) with his handful of soldiers in the Philippines because he simply did not believe that the fight was pointless and that the war was over.
In his isolation, he had not heard about the atomic bombs dropped on Japan, and later he refused to believe that he had been caught in a losing game and that there was no point in continuing to fight as a guerrilla. He believed the news that had come out in the meantime to be the enemy's deception, so he ignored them.
Even when his soldiers' families sent them personal messages with photographs, informing them that there was no point in holding out any further, his troops did not give up their hopeless and pointless resistance to reality and historical circumstances.
Was Hiroo Onoda a heroic soldier who made a meaningful sacrifice for his country? Or did he squander his life, stubbornly devoting three decades to holding on when he should have let go? Let's look at it together!
When there is no point in persevering…
Onoda's misinterpretation of reality kept him going on with a misguided conviction. Unable to see that the situation has changed, he could not create a meaningful, livable life for himself until 1974, but lived a life of terror and hiding.
Our current crisis may not be so terrible, but the fact is that the world has suddenly changed enormously around us, and however much we mourn our old lives, our (apparent) comfort and security from back then, now it is time to change, to step out of our comfort zone. If you look around you, many people are now looking for new opportunities and in new directions because they suddenly see their old livelihoods as uncertain.
How can you start making urgent changes?
First, forget the fears you have carried with you since childhood. You need to understand that what is holding you back is not reality, but the beliefs of others that you have accepted from those who have influenced you throughout your life.
Most of them have passed on their own failures and frustrations to you, perhaps with the good intention of protect you from the pain they have experienced, or perhaps sometimes to justify their own choices.
Once you have become aware of what is stopping you, just focus on the goal! No matter what, you'll have to survive even against the odds. When you see the goal, such as the monthly amount you need to earn for yourself and your loved ones, your focus shifts from the perceived "risks" to the practical tasks you need to accomplish in the future.
The real risk is not in trying something new, but in doing nothing. The most dangerous attitude is to bury your head in the sand while life is rushing by. In the current situation, "staying still" and resigning yourself to you fate is more than risky: it is the recipe for certain failure. Yes, change may seem painful, it may seem difficult… but it is also inevitable.
The sooner you start, the better!
You may not want to hear this, but I'll say it anyway: no one is really safe as an employee from now on. Persevering with your old life strategies without looking at other options in the meantime is as pointless as the Japanese lieutenant's perseverance. Only those are open and educate themselves in the field of online marketing can survive the challenges of a world turned upside-down. Those who do not keep up with the times and do not educate themselves will be left behind and easily squeezed out of the labour market. The world is constantly moving towards automatization, so the jobs that can be done by robots will disappear from the labour market in the next 5 to 10 years.
Look for a type of job where you are not replaceable! Educate yourself in online marketing, because this is an area where there is a skills shortage, and you will need this knowledge if you start any business. Think about the possibility of multiple income sources, and as soon as possible. It's worth checking out the training material we offer, because you have nothing to lose by learning about online customer acquisition methods, but you will gain the advantage of acquiring knowledge you can build on when you decide to actually try new opportunities.
